Aaron Draplin: Hustle, Heart & Real Talk

Aaron Draplin
  •  September 15, 2016
     11:30 am - 1:00 pm

He’s returning to STC with more insight and comedic lessons from his POV.

Aaron James Draplin, Portland-based graphic designer known for his contemporary DIY aesthetic, impressive client roster, and call-it-like-he-sees-it demeanor, is coming back to St. Cloud in September to kickoff another year for AAFCM.

Draplin, who’s worked on global brands such as Esquire, Ford Motors, Burton Snowboards and The Obama Administration, kicked off our programming season in Fall 2013 and we’ve been getting requests to bring him back ever since.

This time, he’ll be dishing out details about his latest projects, his new book, Pretty Much Everything, and more valuable case studies from his career. Along the way, we’ll hear uncensored road stories and honest-to-goodness advice that just might be the push you need to crush your next project.

Designers. Art directors. Writers. If you have a creative bone in your body, or just like hearing humorous stories from a design entrepreneur who loves the craft and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, this one’s for you.

Aaron Draplin: The Up Close & Personal Workshop

A separate 2-hour workshop geared toward designers who want the inside scoop.

Can’t get enough of Aaron Draplin and don’t want to, you’re in luck. Draplin will be conducting a 2-hour workshop to a limited number of attendees immediately following the luncheon. In the workshop, you’ll take an even deeper dive behind the scenes at Draplin Design Co, and he’ll talk in-depth about some of his projects and answer your questions in a more intimate setting.

Guaranteed to be fun, funny and, of course, insightful, this session is focused on giving you valuable take-aways to apply to your work, life and personal design philosophy.

The workshop is a separate event and requires its own ticket. You can sign up for the workshop here.
