2012 ADDY Call For Entries

AddysBy now you should have received your 2012 ADDY Call For Entries poster in the mail. This years entries are due on January 20, 2012 and the ADDY Award ceremony will be on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Ritsche Auditorium, SCSU. Viewing of work, hors d'oeuvres & drinks at 6:30PM. Awards show and ceremony begin at 8PM.

Silver Medal Award - Call for Nominations

The American Advertising Federation's Silver Medal Award Program was established in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern. Each year, our AAF chapter bestows this honor upon an outstanding member of the local advertising community.

Calling All Artists! 2011 1x1 Art Gala

Bill MoranIt's time for the 1x1 Art Gala & being resourceful is your best resource for this year's show!

This year, things are getting a little shake up. Yes, you'll get a plank of wood like in years past, but in your 1x1 "kit" you'll find some other goodies to re-purpose into your creation. If random items can be used to disassemble a bomb, surely such items can lend that perfect amount of flair to your work of art.

TO PARTICPATE AS AN ARTIST

Entry kits containing rules and materials will be $10 a piece with all proceeds from the event going to SCSU & SCTCC National Student Advertising Competition teams and participating artists get free entry to the event.

Finished pieces will be due back no later than Monday November 28th.

Millner Heritage Winery Wine Label Competition

Bill MoranAAF Central Minnesota is partnering with Millner Heritage Vineyard and Winery to offer a fantastic design opportunity for students and professionals alike. Each participant will be asked to create and design a new wine label that captures Millner's brand and the Hungarian/Austrian heritage it represents. This contest is a great way to showcase your talents and skills, with a friendly competitive edge thrown in. Think about it…what a great portfolio piece! The winner will be announced and honored at our Spring 2012 Social to be held at the Millner Heritage Winery in Kimball, MN.

Adventure™ Opens New Office Location in Minneapolis, MN

AdventureNovember 15, 2011 – BRAINERD, MN – Adventure™, a full-service advertising agency with offices in Brainerd and St. Cloud, MN, will open a new office and photo studio in the Twin Cities on December 1st. The third office will reside at 4850 35th Street West, Minneapolis.

Bill MoranBILL MORAN of Blinc Publishing is a 3rd-generation letterpress printer, graphic designer and professor of printing history at the University of Minnesota. His clients include Prince, Arianna Huffington, Wells Fargo, 3M and a host of other Twin Cities businesses. Since 2001 he has volunteered at the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum in a variety of roles including the writing and publishing of his book Hamilton Wood Type, A History in Headlines.

AAF Central Minnesota will be hosting our first ever St. Cloud Area Agency Crawl on Tuesday, September 27th. This event will be a joint open house of agencies and businesses in the advertising, marketing and creative industries in the St. Cloud area. Students from the area colleges and universities are encouraged to check it out and stop by participating businesses to visit, tour, meet and mingle.
