CMYK – A Crafty Collaboration of Local Designers and Local Brews

CMYK is AAFCM’s newest addition to our programming line-up and is a design competition and silent auction for local professionals and students. We chose the name CMYK because it’s an obvious nod to design yet flexible enough to change the format as trends come and go. So if coaster design is all-the-rage three years from now, we just might host a coaster design competition. You get the point.

This year our format is posters, and we’re hosting it at St. Cloud’s newest micro-brewery, Beaver Island Brewing Company. Given the collaboration with our friends at Beaver Island, we selected… drum roll please… BEER! as this year’s poster theme. Yes, we thought long and hard about that theme.

HOW IT WORKS:

Using their medium choice, artists will follow the specifications outlined in the Call for Designers Form to create a beer-themed poster. All posters will be put on display at the event and available for all event attendees to purchase via silent auction. Half of all proceeds of the silent auction go to Central MN’s advertising students, so help us keep the creative juices of the future flowing.

CMYK is open to the public! Whether you’re an artist, a beer drinker, or a beer-drinking artist, this is an event you don’t want to miss.

THE FINE PRINT:

Cost to submit a poster for auction is $10 to cover printing costs.
Competition is limited to the first 30 designers.
Competition is limited to 1 poster per designer.
Final artwork files must be uploaded via the upload link by Wed. Oct. 7 at 5 PM.

NOTE: This is a public event; therefore, all posters will be subject to screening before print. AAFCM reserves the right to reject (without refund) any posters deemed offensive, inappropriate or vulgar.
