AAFCM boasts one of the strongest student programs in the nation!
By working with area colleges, we strive to support our future workforce while providing fun networking opportunities. Our unique Ad Mentor program pairs students with area professionals to learn, advise and basically become ad industry buddies. AAFCM’s student members also get reduced rates to our professional development luncheons and other events.
We encourage area schools to participate in the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC). NSAC goes something like this: annually a corporate sponsor provides a case study outlining the history of its product and current advertising situation. The case study reflects a real world situation to challenge students’ critical thinking abilities and creativity. Students must research the product and its competition, identify potential problems and develop an integrated communications campaign for the client. Each student team then “pitches” its campaign to a panel of judges. The NSAC competition is a fun, rewarding experience and a HUGE resume and portfolio builder!

As you can see, being a student member of AAFCM creates a ton of networking and potential job opportunities. Plus, it’s cheap! Our annual $40 rolling student membership fee gets you full access to all of these great opportunities for a year. You can also get your membership and tickets to all of the events for a discounted price when you get the season ticket. C’mon, think about it… it’s a way better investment than one night out on the town.
