Adventure™ Supports Growth by Adding Account Manager, Katie Sczublewski

November 25, 2013 – Saint Cloud, MN… Adventure™, a full-service advertising agency with Minnesota offices in Brainerd, Saint Cloud and Minneapolis, is excited to announce the addition of Katie Sczublewski to their growing creative staff. With a solid communications and journalism background, she will provide internal relief in day-to-day project management duties and serve as a secondary copywriter. Sczublewski will office in Adventure’s new downtown St. Cloud location.

Before joining the Adventure™ team, Katie acted as production coordinator, traffic manager, content editor/proofer and copywriter at Gaslight Creative. Her natural multi-tasking ability transcends to her volunteer position with the American Advertising Federation, where she currently serves as Co-Programming Chair on the Board of Directors for the Central MN chapter. Prior to relocating to St. Cloud, Sczublewski gained valuable experience as an intern supporting the international PR efforts at Michael Kors’ corporate office in New York City. Sczublewski is a 2011 graduate of Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa as well as a 2010 program graduate of the Universite Paris Sorbonne in Paris, France.

Adventure™ hires Senior Art Director, Jenna Akre

October 8, 2013 – St. Cloud, MN… Adventure™, a full-service advertising agency with Minnesota offices in Brainerd, Saint Cloud and Minneapolis, recently added Jenna Akre to their growing creative staff. She brings nearly a decade of graphic design, print and interactive experience to her position of Senior Art Director. Akre will split her time between Adventure’s new downtown St. Cloud office and Minneapolis.

Prior to joining Adventure™, Akre served as Design Director for Touchpoint Media, where she led the development of custom publications in both print and digital formats. Before her years with Touchpoint, Akre acted as designer and art director for both Metropolitan Media Group and Tiger Oak Publications. Her creative experience spans a wide range of projects, including packaging, corporate collateral, ad design, magazine layout, photo direction and web design. Akre is a 2005 graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and an active member of industry organizations, including ADFED, AIGA and MMPA.

University of Minnesota-Twin Cities To Represent District 8 at the National Student Advertising Competition

Minneapolis, MN, April, 17, 2013 – District 8 of the American Advertising Federation is proud to announce that the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities will represent the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin at the National Student Advertising Competition, the premier student advertising competition.

The NSAC is a unique real-world experience that prepares students for successful careers and provides sponsoring companies with tangible, effective integrated marketing campaigns. The education services division of the national American Advertising Federation annually conducts the NSAC in cooperation with a major corporation.

This year, Glidden challenged advertising students from across the country to present a top-notch, comprehensive advertising campaign. As a challenge to the competing university teams, Glidden provided a case study outlining its history, and student teams then researched the product and devised a completely integrated communications campaign to increase the awareness of Glidden paint inside Walmart stores. Schools competing for the District Eight prize included Minnesota State University Moorhead, North Dakota State University, South Dakota State University, University of Minnesota-Duluth, St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud Technical & Community College, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, University of St. Thomas and the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

Professionals and Students Recognized for Excellence in Advertising

Local organization presents 125 awards for industry work.

St. Cloud, Minn. — The American Advertising Federation of Central Minnesota (AAFCM) presented its 2013 ADDY® Awards for advertising creative excellence at Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Center (St. Cloud) last Saturday evening, February 9th.

Over 290 people attended the annual event that recognizes local agencies, creative professionals and students for their work during the previous year. Of the 345 entries received at this year’s local level of the competition, 22 professional gold ADDY® Awards, 31 professional silver ADDY® Awards, 24 gold student ADDY® Awards and 38 silver student ADDY® Awards were presented.

Gaslight Creative Receives Top Honor at 2013 American Advertising Awards

Meta 13 Interactive Adds Nick Murphy as Technical Director

December 13, 2012 – St. Cloud, MN – Meta 13 Interactive, St. Cloud’s leading web development firm, recently added Nick Murphy to its growing staff. Murphy will serve as Meta 13’s Technical Director and brings extensive experience to perfectly augment Meta 13’s team of nine programmers and designers.

Murphy is a St. Cloud native and 2004 graduate of St. Cloud State University. He returns to the area after eight years working in various parts of the country – first as a Scientific Programmer and Senior Scientific Developer for the University of Arizona in Tucson, then as Senior Scientific Programmer at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and most recently as Senior Software Engineer at Saturn Systems, Inc. in Duluth, MN.
